JAKARTA MUNCH

Ratih Wulan, an immigrant from Indonesia, created Jakarta Munch in 2019 in an effort to introduce her culture and family heritage to New Yorkers through cuisine. Throughout the brand’s time at Smorgansburg they’ve sold over 10,000 bowls of build-your-own Indonesian rice and salad bowls. Guests choose the base (rice, coconut rice, salad or mix of both), protein (chicken, beef, vegan meat, mushroom) and sauce (spicy gulai, savory opor, sweet semur or spicy balado). The bowls can then be topped with garlic chips, pickled cabbage, and other delicious items. Much of Jakarta Munch’s menu is gluten free and vegan.
